Justin Reacts to "Emergence"

I react to the the third episode of HALO on Paramount Plus. As someone who has not played the HALO campaigns outside of HALO: Reach, I am not overly familiar with the franchise. Therefore, my expectations aren't much more than a superficial understanding of who some of the characters are and the alien design.

I find that I am very invested in the show so far - it has the kind of storytelling that I like. Instead of being a blockbuster movie from the get-go, it builds on itself. That’s the kind of stories that I like. it’s a strong start, but not the most explosive.

I’ll be back at my usual recording space soon - I'm visiting family (you can hear them at 41:50). I also don’t yet have a camera, but that will happen soon. Again, thank you all for helping me get to a place where I can have a camera and for encouraging me to keep creating. If you are willing/able to help me continue to create, please consider donating to me on Patreon or Ko-fi. I would be forever grateful.

More on Continent-Sized Rotating Space Habitats (such as Halo Rings and Bishop Rings) from Isaac Arthur.

The Dawn of Angels” does not appear to be a real book.

For more in-depth information on HALO, both the show and the game, I would recommend the channel EckhartsLadder. For his episode 3 review, click here.

More on my writings and recordings about AI and Androids. I should start a tag for Synthetic Life and Transhumanism one of these days, as I’ve also written and spoken about those topics as well.

The creepy assistant to Dr. Halsey is Adun. I’ve yet to find a wiki page for him yet.

I looked up the difference between sentience and sapience. To be sentient is to be “responsive to or conscious of sense impressions,” “aware,” and “finely sensitive in perception or feeling,” whereas to be sapient is to have the ability to think, the capacity for intelligence, the ability to acquire wisdom.

The member of Silver Team whom I am trying to describe is Petty Officer First Class Kai-125. Apparently, she’s the marksman and intelligence specialist for Silver Team - as the intelligence specialist, I imagine that she would be more thoughtful about things that are going on.

Reach is not orbiting a gas giant - it is the second planet of the Epsilon Eridani system. It turns out that the ringed body in the sky is the moon Csodaszarvas, the larger of Reach’s two moons.
Fun fact: Epsilon Eridani really does have planets (AEgir has been confirmed, c is not confirmed) as well as two asteroid belts and a dust cloud.
