National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a 30-day event in November where people attempt to write a 50,000 word novel. Their Mission Statement is:
"National Novel Writing Month believes in the transformational power of creativity. We provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds—on and off the page."
They also have other programs: The Young Writers Program, Camp NaNoWriMo, and The Come Write In program. Check them out and tell your own story!
I have been participating in NaNoWriMo since 2011. In that time, I have tried my hand at various Science Fiction and Fantasy tales. However, I have yet to finish any of them. That doesn't stop me from trying, of course! I do so enjoy giving it the old honest try. Perhaps I shall finish one of these stories eventually.
