There has often been debate as to whether or not Star Trek: The Animated Series is considered canon. Depending on what one goes by, it’s either the fourth year, fifth year, or both the fourth and fifth year of the Enterprise’s 5-year mission.
The referenced cat-lady was Lieutenant M’Ress.

The Eugenics Wars were fought between 1992 and 1996; the book series that is referenced that talks about it is the trilogy Star Trek: The Eugenics Wars. Though the Eugenics Wars were sometimes referred to as World War III, that was also a separate event that took place from 2026-2053.

At 34 minutes in, I have difficulty remembering Lieutenant Keyla Detmer’s name.

Star Trek: Renegades is a 2015 Star Trek fan film.

Lieutenant Darwin was the navigator in Star Trek: Into Darkness, and Lieutenant Arex was the navigator in Star Trek: The Animated Series.
