The episode of The Simpsons that Justin is referring to is “The Last Temptation of Homer” (Episode 90).

The original quote is “The East Coast is kind but not nice, the West Coast is nice but not kind,” Tweeted by Jordan Green. Upworthy has an excellent article about it.

Genie is actually a brand name for work lifts and platforms. The Genie brand is so common that in certain areas, it has become a generic trademark, much like Kleenex and these other brands.

This is NOT A HAMMER.

Croesus was King of Lydia, and was defeated by Cyrus the Great. The referenced Overly Sarcastic Productions Video.

A recent picture of Leonidas:

She Blinded Me With Science” as performed by William Shatner on his album Seeking Major Tom.

It Was A Very Good Year” as performed by William Shatner on his album The Transformed Man.

It Was a Very Good Beer” as performed by Homer Simpson on the Episode “Duffless” (Episode 75). This scene also references A Clockwork Orange, and the song is also on the album Songs in the Key of Springfield.

The episode of The Simpsons that Justin is trying to think of is “Summer of 4 Ft. 2” (Episode 153), and the lake is Little Pwagmattasquarmsettport. Gore Vidal was an American writer and public intellectual who was also openly bisexual.

Das Bus” (episode 192) was the Lord of the Flies episode. The episode where Martin Prince says his delightful line is “The Haw-Hawed Couple” (Episode 386).

Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play is an American black comedy play written by Anne Washburn and featuring music by Michael Friedman.

The episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender is “The Great Divide” (Book 1, Chapter 11).

The Hello Future Me videos that Justin can’t explain:

It was Serena Williams who had the medical scare after giving birth:

The panel that Justin was on was 23 and Us: The Social Implications of DNA Testing. Justin was referring to the Star Trek episode “Space Seed” (TOS 1x24), where Ricardo Montalbán portrayed Khan Noonien Singh. What Justin said was:

“We were fortunate to stop Khan Noonien Singh back in 1996, and unfortunately we had to use all of our DY-100s, all one of them, to get him off the planet, and now we can’t go back into space.”

It was perhaps a little too esoteric.
