MNPoly Presents: Consent and Sex Positivity Panel

On April 18th, 2022, I was on a panel for MNPoly about Consent and Sex Positivity. You can listen to the audio of the panel on my SoundCloud. MNPoly is accepting donations through their PayPal link to support further educational social events. Also, MNPolyCon is back this year on July 24th.

The night’s panelists were:

  • Jillian (she/her): a queer autistic activist working in the public policy sector

  • Justin (xe/xem): an advocate, educator, and writer, with a BA in Gender Studies and an AA in Liberal Arts

  • Marie (they/them): a coach for practitioners of ethical non-monogamy and counter-culture

  • Red (she/her): who has been practicing some form of non-monogamy before she had words for what it was

As some of the topics were heavy and possibly triggering, Marie & Red started with some self-care discussion and practices.

From there, we discussed attachment theory and the self. Part of that included evolution and how we change as people, as well as conflict agreements. The part where we talked about the ritual and planning for breakups reminded me of the Rite of Separation from the Deep Space Nine episode “Let He Who Is Without Sin…” (DS9 5x07).

Communication Resources:

The movie that I couldn’t think of was Cordelia. It turns out that the movie poster was also misleading.

If you can, please help me continue to create and produce Justin on Panels. As little as $1/month will help me get into a position where I can spend more time working directly on the podcast and eventually expand it’s reach. To this end, I am on both Patreon and Ko-fi, membership platform services designed to help facilitate the relationships between patrons and creators.
I know that it's not always possible to sponsor someone on a monthly basis. If you would help me with a one time donation, please feel free to use Ko-fi, PayPal, CashApp, or Vemno. Producing content takes time and effort, and any support would be most appreciated. Your donations help me cover expenses and eventually will let me be able to create quality content full-time.
