Note - Justin was having issues with xyr microphone, and so the sound of their voice changes every so often throughout the episode.

Justin looked it up - the Chicago City Council uses the term aldermen (possibly soon to be alderpersons) instead of the more common city councilor.

The comedian that Justin was referring to joined the navy in 1956, and therefore was not drafted.

On the US Military:

“Service Guarantees Citizenship” - Would You Like To Know More?

Note: The United States Marine Corps does have the Marine Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble of the United States Marine Band. “The President’s Own” is the name for the United States Marine Band.

The United States has eight uniformed services - the six service branches of the armed forces (Military: Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force; Homeland Security: Coast Guard) and the two non-armed uniformed services (Department of Health and Human Services: United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps; Department of Commerce: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps). According to Wikipedia, “of the military's 137 regular and reserve bands, 11 are currently designated premier ensembles”. The Space Force and NOAA do not have bands, but the Coast Guard and PHSCC do.

Justin update: xe forgot to talk about fibromyalgia at the medical appointment, but did remember to talk about it at the follow-up, and has an appointment to be tested for it. However, it was determined that the headaches were from a sinus infection and has since undergone an antibiotic and steroid treatment to care for it.

Replicated Food Probably Tastes Boring — Justin Grays

The time Captain Janeway burns a meal that Justin is referring to is during the episode “Shattered” (VOY 7x11). Other times that her replicator cooking issues are mentioned include the episodes “Ashes to Ashes” (VOY 6x18) and “Workforce, Part I” (VOY 7x16).

Note: Justin’s last drink of Dr Pepper was on 08/10/2021. When this episode is released (11/01/2021), it will have been 83 days since xe last had any. It has not gotten any easier.

Marina Sirtis and Tamora Pierce were two of the guests at CONvergence 2018. The panel that Justin was on with Tamora Pierce was “Avoiding Tokenism in Literature”.

“Lay on, Macduff,” Macbeth, Act V, Scene VIII.
